Our Collective Sight

We intend to create solutions together by providing holistic support services that uplift our collective knowledge and manifest the healing and thriving of our communities.

Our intention (mission) describes how we want to show up in our program offerings and community engagement. Ultimately, we aim to align with community members, neighbors, and youth to live in thriving community together.

We envision creating new systems to serve the needs and dreams of all the marginalized youth to build and nurture liberated communities across North Carolina.

We look to the future together, remembering that our collective past and ancestors have prepared us to live in abundance, community care, mutual aid, and liberated love.

Healing

To move forward together into our liberated future, healing is a part of the journey. We aim to create psychologically safe work environments, built in community care and somatic body work, and intentionally healing spaces that practice equitable community engagement. Healing is not our purpose, but it is part of the path to collecive well being.

Liberation

We are not free until we are all free. Solidarity across our work and movements ensures that we do not settle for individual freedoms at the cost of collective liberation. It takes all of us together [to-get-there], privileged and marginalized, rich and poor, powerful and disenfranchised to bridge the chasms that seek to divide us when our unity is what sets us free.

Restoring Dignity

Systems of oppression can break us down physically, emotionally, spiritually, and more. We hope to restore what has been lost due cultures of supremacy (white supremacy, human supremacy) by treating each other with respect, honoring our humanity, our whole-ness, and all of our rights to dignity in whatever circumstances we find ourselves.

Collaboration and Unity

Collaboration is the way of the natural world for inviduals to overcome. The diversity that nurtures thriving in a lush rainforest is like the multitude of ideas and strengths we need to unify our efforts, our movements, and our work to create the impact and change we wish to see.

Unapologetic

Undocumented students and families have led an ongoing movement for policy changes and better living conditions and opportunities; many times at great personal risk. We honor the bravery of activists by also being unapologetic about who we center and why. We're happy to educate and share insight, and follow the lead of our most marginalized leaders that work for a better world for all of us.

Power and Rights

There is inherent power in every person and community; oppressive systems impact our agency to act on our power, diluting rights and siphoning our ability to change injustices we cannot accept. Through building and strengthening community, we restore and replenish our power and rights.

Building Allyship

Allyship is how we advocate, create space, and share power from where we are. We are allys to each other, to folxs on the margin, to vulnerable populations, will the goal of reaching co-conspiratorship.
